Harrington School
After a bit of thought I came to the decision that I’d post an overview/introduction/I’m-so-proud-of-myself-LOOK! before starting with the actual… Err, storyline? I’m not entierly certain what it is, but at any rate it will all begin after this post. Most of these students are townies, except one. It doesn’t look like it’s a school built in a town with little of anything, I know, I couldn’t really help myself and went all out though I do believe I need to do some editing. At any rate, let’s begin!

This is Harrington School, excuse the gray sky and the rain and the sims, being the genius that I am I took a picture of the school after I’d started it. Oh well, I suppose the gray sky does sort of fit considering the fact that it is school after all.
Here’s an overview of the first floor and here’s one of the second floor. They’re a bit on the large side, so I linked to them instead.

When you enter the school from the main doors you walk straight into a hall. From the hall you can go to the cafeteria, to the library, the principals office (i.e. Poppy’s office), the principals bathroom, the students toilets and also up to the second floor. As you can see, the school does provide snacks and sugary goodness for students in need to a quick energy fix after a late night out of working on a school project.

The cafeteria itself is rather bland, there’s nothing up on the walls just yet, although in time I’m sure there will be. You can also see the doors leading to the respective bathrooms (I didn’t take a picture of them since they’re honestly not very interesting). The door leads outside to the playground/hangout spot.

The hangout spot comes equipped with a grill and a few chairs, the students are already nagging for the hangout spot to be roofed so they can enjoy it even when it rains. The plan is that the hangout spot (it really does need a better name) will be used for social gatherings during the school year and will be the spot were graduating students will have a barbecue party with the rest of the school before they leave. (At the moment there are no venues for balls and such, so this is the second best option although various sims might decide to host the party themselves. If a venue does pop up the school will gather a prom comitee that will look at cost and expenses etc.

Going back inside we go in the opposite direction and come across Jaquenetta Gale, you might recognize her from one of the wedding photos from Clary’s wedding. As of yet she’s of little importance, she spends most of her time heartfarting over Clary and Pomona.

Poppy’s office. It’s quite dull and boring really, as the students paint paintings etc. Poppy might hang some of them up in her office, for now it’s very simple. Though she did get a high-tech computer (being the principal should give you some benefits after all).

The office is also the place were I hanged the picture that allows school uniforms, I’m still not sure whether or not to make it a “private” or public school. As of yet there aren’t many taxes but there aren’t many playable children either. For now, Poppy will be one of the few getting “money from no where” every once in awhile to help pay of her loan etc.
As you can see, it’s also a popular hangout spot, because we all like hanging out in the principal’s office for no reason at all. Oh and Clary dropped by before I had a chance to “close” the business and decided to do some workout on her own. Is she subtly trying to tell me that they need a gym? The paperboy appeared by accident as I summoned various teens, the poor boy was allowed to leave in the end though.

The library, which comes equipped with computers as well. Since there are no bookshelves in the classrooms the students go down to the library to study “book skills” such as cooking etc. I considered giving them a classroom for cusine and such, like I had back at junior high, but then I considered the high risk of fire and decided against it.
This looks so good that you make me want to redo my schools.
Oh Poppy and Pomona, what a team for testing the school.
A classroom for cuisine does sound like a good idea. I’ve thought about it, but you’re right. What kind of a letter would the principle have to send home if a student died due to mac ‘n cheese?

Aw, thank you! I’ve gotten somehow good at building schools (figures I build better schools than houses) since I always tend to start one in any neighbourhood I start, regardless whether or not I’m actualy going to play it xP
And yes, wonderful team indeed
Precisely, I didn’t think their parents would be too keen on me roasting them, so I dropped it. Still, it could have been quite interesting…
Logan pretty much was asking for those noogies with that turtleneck and cargo pants combination!
The school looks fantastic and I’m looking forward to seeing it in your regular updates. You’ve included some things I never thought to use for my school, like a grill outside. The outside of my high school is rather bare.

I wish the game had sone sense of fashion, honestly! Cargo pants and a turtleneck? Come on… It just doesn’t look good…
Yeah, I’m itching to play it which is why I’m going to churn out updates today and tomorrow so I can play Clary and the others before jumping back into the school and playing it
