Aftermath

Jared meanwhile had gotten both showered and dressed and quickly went outside again so he could play (Flora had taken to hissing whenever she saw the rope (a misfortunate accident had ended with Flora being smacked with the rope and she’d disliked it ever since) without Flora leaping out to ambush the rope.

Not long after (and before Flora realised what was going on) the bus arrived and Jared said goodbye to his parents and left for school, wondering if Pomona would be their substitute again or not. They never really got around to doing any school work, but it was interesting when she occasionally slipped and told him about what his mother had done when she was younger. He just knew it would come in handy later.

Later that night, when Jaden had been put to bed and Jared had finally been convinced that there wasn’t anything hiding under his bed, both Baptista and Clary retreated to their respective sleeping spots – him to the bed and she to the couch. This time though, Baptista couldn’t fall asleep, no matter how much he rolled, groaned and changed sides. In the end he got up, walked over to where Clary was lying, not quite asleep yet and told her that the bed was cold.

Like that, Clary found herself back in the comfortable bed, and Baptista found the bed getting warm again. They didn’t really have to say much else, at least not right then, tomorrow, on Saturday, they’d cuddle up and wait for the kids to wake and they’d talk. But right then, sleeping suited them both just fine.
Notes:
These pictures are old, I’m not entirely sure how old, but they were taken just before the big break began. Clary and Baptista mainly avoided one another completely, she’d go into the bathroom when he got out of the bedroom, he’d go into Jaden’s room when she went into the kitchen etc. they did walk past one another now and then, but mostly seemed to avoid any form of contact. Jared spent most of his time playing with the cat, playing with Jaden or taking Jaden’s toys. Jaden learned to speak, from what I remember, so something (beyond a slight bridge between Clary and Baptista) was achieved!
There were some outtakes that I wasn’t quite certain what to do with:

Neither Socrates nor Baptista strikes me as the type of guys to do this, it’s too, intimate for them really. They’re very good friends, but still, I don’t think either one is too comfortable with doing that!

The only other picture I have of Baptista and Clary doing anything while standing close to one another xD It’s not a wonder that Baptista took so long if he keeps standing just where he’ll end up hitting his head against the window pane! *Sigh*
I also played some of Clary’s shop, but none of it was really suitable for the update so it’s on the next page of this post
Nothing much, an overview and some pictures, nothing too fancy.
I love the shop! I don’t yet have any stores that sell anything but craftables in my game but I should try it again sometime. It’s easy to keep up with the stock, at least!
As for Baptista and Clary – what a tense household! I hope sleeping in the same bed again will be a turning point for them.

I’ve tried, and failed, with stores that sell craftable items. Perhaps I’m just very bad at judging how much stuff is needed – I don’t know – but it always ends with me switching. I’m thinking of trying it again though, but only with one shelf, taking it nice and slooow should hopefully make it easy enough for me xD
You’ve no idea! I managed to leave out all the angry-faces that Baptista made, but boy, there was a LOT of them! And he really doesn’t have any right to be mad either! While I’m not going to force them to stick together, I hope that they do, I already have too many single castoffs from both Clary and Pomona, I don’t need more! XD

The two (I think it’s only two? LOL) stores I have that sell craftables are both very small! I think that’s definitely the trick!

It probably is! I might attempt it, I just have to find someone who’re more craft-minded than the ones I have right now… Hm…
Who would’ve guessed Poppy for a microwave addict?
I’m the same as you when it comes to building. But minus the neat roofs. Just big boxes. XD I think the store looks great. You need to avoid headesking as much as possible. That stuff starts to hurt after a while.
And wow… awkward update for this household! Could feel the tension between the entire family. I love in the end, they just go back to sleeping together, no talking about it.

Not me! But she buys dozens of them when she stops by o.O Odd woman.
Thanks! I like boxes, they’re far easier to decorate than houses that have too many diagonal walls (which leads to headdesking) or too fancy floor-separation (more headdesking).
You bet! I pity poor Jared who was pretty much caught in the middle and left to his own devices for most of the time. The end just seemed to suit them, they both seem (to me at least) to be more “showing” type of sims rather than the types to give long speeches as to the how’s and why’s of things.
