Well, this is part 2 of the long-ish update from the Enthycia-Gale household. This one continues more or less from the point where the first part ended (in other words, we’re not suddenly jumping from summer to winter).

It didn’t take very long before Celia too became a frequent visitor to the Enthycia-Gale household, one can wonder if she visited because she actually liked Poppy and Pomona or if she simply dropped by in the hopes that she’d pick up juicy gossip. At either rate it seemed like there was something going on in the house these days. Whenever Celia got there Pomona would follow Poppy around, trying to talk to her, talking about love and all the difficulties that came along with it.

For the most part Poppy would reply with: “Why ‘Mona, if I didn’t know any better I’d think you were changing your spots”. Though sometimes she’d indulge Pomona and discuss love and its difficulties. “Friendship over love?” Poppy says, “hm, I don’t know… Love is grand… And friendship doesn’t give you a ring on your finger…”

“So… How serious are these engagement things?” Pomona asked Poppy one day. “Well, an engagement is half-way to marriage, and marriage is supposed to last forever, isn’t it?” Poppy replied. “So what you’re saying is that engagement are like… Super-serious stuff?” Poppy nodded quickly. “Very,” she looked stunned for a moment, “you’re not engaged are you?” Pomona looked horrified and shook her head. “Oh no!”

The entire evening Celia listened as Pomona made varied attempts at telling Poppy whatever big secret she was hiding. “You know how you’ve said that people should be allow to woohoo freely?” Pomona started. “I’ve never said that,” Poppy shook her head and looked away. “That must have been Clary…”

Ceilia watched Pomona and arched a slight brow, thorn between being amused and feeling pity for Poppy. Well, he can’t complain that nothing interesting ever happens around Harrington anymore… she thought to herself as she watched Pomona. She should probably stay out of it, but it really was quite amusing…

A little later that evening Baptista Savage, Clary’s husband, called Pomona for a chat. “Best friends are forever, aren’t they?” Pomona asked. “Well, unless something happens, yes…” Pomona sighed. “I’ve got to go, Arthur wants me to hang out…”

Of course, if Pomona didn’t know any better she’d have thought that Arthur was trying to mess with her plans. “I’d never sleep with anyone who’s engaged,” was Arthurs opening sentence when he started the conversation. Pomona stiffened and grabbed his arm, giving him a warning glance from the corner of her eye.

For a minute there was nothing but silence, and Celia found herself smiling for a minute before looking at Poppy who looked both confused and somewhat disgusted. Clearly, Poppy had thought that all people who were engaged were off limits by default.

“What’s the point of getting engaged if you’re going to sleep with someone else anyhow? Hardly proper I’d say…” Celia ventured, looking from Pomona to Poppy. If she was understanding this correctly, and she very much thought so, she was starting to get an image of what was going on.

It’s been quite quiet from this corner of the web for a little while, however I have actually been doing sim-stuff (as well as vacation-stuff and lazy-stuff)… It just hasn’t been related to Harrington. At any rate I’m back and I’m bringing updates

This is part one of two entries that took place while I was playing Pomona and Poppy’s house. I split them in two as they’d be far too long to read in one sitting (this one is four pages long with a total of 27 pictures).

One can wonder what thoughts went through Pomona’s head as she stood in the kitchen/living room screaming her head off. Maybe she thought “never again!” or perhaps she was wondering where the hell Poppy was and what was taking her so long? Either way, it’s safe to say that Pomona was not feeling anything but severe pain and an urge to curse men to hell and back.

Luckily Pomona came running quite quickly, although Socrates was just a nanosecond quicker in getting there. Though at that point Pomona probably wouldn’t have cared very much as to who got her to the hospital as long as she got there and got an epidural.

After a bit of pacing back and forth (Poppy and Socrates, who for some reason felt the need to come along, did the pacing, Pomona mostly just breathed and pushed), biting of nails and going between the stages of panic (that was mainly just Poppy) Pomona finally delivered and upon arrving back home took a minute to look at this little bundle she’d brought to the world. (She refused to call it a “bundle of joy” as she was certain it was bound to be more of a “boundle of trouble”)

At either rate, Poppy did her best at welcoming Marius Gale to the world by preparing a nursery for him. After all, Poppy really does want some of these bundles herself, although she’s wondering if she might not consider adopting instead, as it seems more painless.

Of course, one might want to point out to her that participating in that particular activity does not bound well for avoiding the pain that giving birth would surely cause. Perhaps this is another sign why assigning Poppy as the headmaster might have been a bad idea. As of yet the rate of teenage pregnancy hasn’t gone up, so one can assume that no severe harm has been done as of yet.

Poppy is still very much a child at heart, though luckily it appears that Socrates doesn’t mind that very much. He too longs for “bundles” (they’ve taken to calling them that after watching the <s>terrifying</s> heartwarming process that brought Marius to the world), and they’ve taken quite a shine to one another. That and Poppy truly does need another teacher, a teacher who is not Pomona as that can’t be good for anyone

Whoever said men/boys will sometimes move too quick for ones liking has clearly never met Poppy. It didn’t take her long to decide that she wanted to marry Socrates. This might be because as far as Poppy knows, Socrates has never been near neither Clary or Pomona and so he’s “safe” from them. Oh Poppy…

At either rate he did accept, although he didn’t move in as he had some things to take care of at his place before he could move anywhere, that and Poppy and Pomona still haven’t decided precisely which one of them who owns the house and until they decide neither are too keen on moving and losing possible investments.

Let’s all say “Awwww” and “Congrats” to the happy couple, may the happiness last and so on and so forth. Poppy seems slightly more into the embrace than Socrates, no?

Before I begin I should probably let you know that this is the last “introduction post” that I plan on doing. I am adding Raiden and some other sims, but the main point of these introduction posts were to show you what went on while I wasn’t taking pictures. With this post that’s pretty much done and we can move over to more “current” stuff. I still have to figure how I’m going to split it all up, it all happened during the round of Poppy and Pomona, but a LOT of stuff went on so I might split it into three posts. (I wasn’t playing my default two/three day rotation) But I’ll see what feels best when I actually get there. For now, let me introduce you to Poppy and Pomona.

Poppy and Pomona are both townies, I didn’t make them and they “willingly” became friends with Clary (who they can blame for getting them into this madness). Poppy is now 29 and a family oriented sim, while Pomona is romance oriented and 28 years old.

We’ll start off with the moment that made me re-think blogging, it might not tell you a whole lot now, but it will eventually, I promise. Either way, I’d just built Poppy and Pomona a house (which looks quite a bit like Clary’s) and the first person to stop by was Raiden. Now, Raiden and Pomona did get along quite nicely although I don’t really think they had a lot of chemistry between them. Poppy does have two bolts with him, however she severely dislikes him (I think it began as an argument over at Clary’s and it has now evolved into them becoming enemies). Generally whenever Raiden came over (this is not the only time he’s dropped by) Poppy would quickly busy herself with something else, and since there’s usually quite a lot of sims on the lot, mainly men, she often ended up watching TV with them.

Not to say that Poppy doesn’t have a social life of her own, it’s just that it’s just that, social, nothing more nothing less. She and Arthur has bonded over their love for dancing in music videos for example (Arthur is a frequent visitor both at Clary’s house and at Pomona’s). In fact, they’ve formed a friendship of shorts, although it really doesn’t remove the awkward factor for Poppy when he struts out of Pomona’s bedroom wearing only his boxers. Still, she likes him better than Raiden, that’s for sure.

This is one of those rare moments were Raiden and Poppy are not at each other’s throats, Arthur are friends with them both so maybe he talked them into “playing nice” while Pomona plays “nice” with Socrates in her bedroom. (I swear, the house is constantly filled with people, and yes, both Clary and Pomona seem to go for the same “type”, a recipe for trouble? Maybe…)

I have to admit I’m sort of waiting to see if ACR will ever kick in for Poppy and Raiden, I doubt it’d go well, but because Arthur constantly makes them sit next to each other (both want to eat/watch tv/hang out with Arthur all the time) they’re bound to start acting civilly with one another at least!

However, Pomona with her frequent “encounters” was bound to end up like this at some point. I’ll admit to being quite surprised as well when she suddenly popped (I installed Monique’s child support mod afterwards, so now I’m usually not taken by as much surprise) after waking up. Considering the fact that this was her first pregnancy, it was surprisingly easy although she did end up with her face in her food near the end of it. She also rolled a fear of having children, go figure, after she reached her third trimester.

Who is Pomona talking with? Clary of course! Does Clary have the faintest clue about Pomona’s sudden “roundness”? Of course not! Why doesn’t Clary know? Because my dear friends, the child is Raiden’s… Oh yeah… I smell drama and intrigue a mile away. And like I said, Pomona and Clary like the same men… Poppy is completely unaware, in fact she really had no clue how many people Pomona had been with until she asked Pomona who the dad was and Pomona ended up listing some five different men as potential sires… Poppy loves her friends, but unlike most family sims (who tend to go nuts with ACR until they settle down) she’s so far stayed FAR away from all men. And no, she’s not lesbian.

Interesting note; Pomona works nights, so she often invites her guys over during the day, hence Poppy never really knew how many men Pomona had been with. But more importantly, Poppy only really knows about Raiden and Arthur since she ended up going to bed before Socrates emerged from Pomona’s room… Why is this important? You’ll see, I promise.

Note: Poppy is actually the principal of Harrington School, I have several pictures of it, but I’m not sure if I’m going to post it before the big madness that lies ahead, during or after. It’s still in testing (which I claim as my reason for not updating Poppy’s wardrobe to something more suitable for a woman who’s profession is to teach children!) and there’s only really one child that’s old enough to attend, but they had enough funds in the government fund box and I really wanted a school dammit!

Also, since I forgot to add it to the main part of the post; Pomona’s first child was a boy named Marius, he’s currently three years old
